I went to the Erlang website and noticed there isn’t a .dmg available, its either source or Windows binary. I then found this blog giving some insights on how to install it on Mac OS,
http://medevyoujane.com/blog/2008/8/6/installing-erlang-and-a-few-libraries-on-mac-os-x.html
I followed that and I now have Erlang installed. Yupiii!
I also noticed the guy recommends the option –enable-hipe. I was wondering what HiPE was until I found someone in the comments saying:
“HiPE is a native code compiler for Erlang. It’s quite faster than the virtual machine version. “
